The Temporary Protection Directive, which was adopted following the conflicts in former Yugoslavia, was triggered for the first time by the Council of the EU in response to the unprecedented Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 to offer quick and effective assistance to people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
This conference will give EMN Member and Observer States the opportunity to share the experiences they gained with applying the Temporary Protection Directive. Synthesising the lessons learned, ways on how to move forward will be discussed.
EMN Cyprus and EMN Luxembourg joint National Conference took place on 13 October 2022 in person in Atlantica Miramare Beach Hotel, Limassol, Cyprus as well as online on Webex.
