Annual Report on Migration and Asylum 2017 – Synthesis Report

This Synthesis Report was prepared on the basis of National Contributions from 25 EMN NCPs (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Norway) according to a Common Template developed by the EMN and followed by EMN NCPs to ensure, to the extent possible, comparability.

The Annual Policy Reports provided by EMN NCPs aimed at describing the migration and asylum situation and developments in the (Member) State as well as statistical data specifically for the year 2017. National contributions were largely based on desk analysis of existing legislation and policy documents, reports, academic literature, internet resources and reports and information from national authorities and practitioners. Statistics were mainly sourced from Eurostat, national authorities and other (national) databases. It is important to note that the information contained in this Report refers to the situation in the abovementioned (Member) States during 2017 and specifically the contributions from their EMN National Contact Points.

More detailed information on the topics addressed here may be found in the available EMN 2017 National Policy Reports and it is strongly recommended that these are consulted as well.
