This Synthesis Report was prepared on the basis of National Contributions from 27 EMN NCPs (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and Norway) according to a Common Template developed by the EMN and followed by EMN NCPs to ensure, to the extent possible, comparability.
The Annual Reports on Migration and Asylum provided by EMN NCPs aimed at describing the migration and asylum situation and developments in the (Member) State and Norway as well as statistical data specifically for the year 2018. National contributions were largely based on desk analysis of existing legislation and policy documents, reports, academic literature, internet resources and reports and information from national authorities and practitioners. Statistics were mainly sourced from Eurostat, national authorities and other (national) databases. It is important to note that the information contained in this Report refers to the situation in the above-mentioned Member States and Norway during 2018 and specifically the contributions from their EMN National Contact Points.
