On 26 September 2022, two EMN Luxembourg experts, Nicole Holzapfel-Mantin and Ralph Petry, participated in a joint EMN-workshop at the 7th Biennial Conference on Migration and Integration Research in Austria, which took place at the University for Continuing Education in Krems (Austria).
The workshop, entitled “Integration von Migrantinnen: Eine vergleichende Betrachtung politischer Ansätze und aktueller Herausforderungen angesichts der COVID-19-Pandemie” was organized by EMN Austria. The Austrian colleagues introduced the discussions by presenting the EMN and several key figures on the integration of migrant women into the labour market from the EMN Study: Integration of migrant women. This was followed by the presentations of the policy approaches towards the integration of migrant women in Austria, Germany, and Luxembourg. The presentations provided data on the levels of integration of migrant women into the labour market in the three countries, as well as information regarding their respective policy responses in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the presentations, the discussant from the hosting institution, a leading labour economist and migration researcher, commented on the three case studies and EMN Austria moderated a discussion with the audience.
