On 8 and 9 June 2026, EMN Luxembourg participated in the international conference “Refugee reception policy: Continuity and change from the 20th century to the present day in Europe, Luxembourg and the Greater Region” held at the Hotel de Ville in Dudelange. The event was jointly organized by the Chair of History and Migrations of the Luxembourg Center of Contemporary and Digital History, the University of Lorraine, and the City of Dudelange
The interventions of the EMN Luxembourg team and its national partner CEFIS took place during the session dedicated to the evolution of asylum policies in Luxembourg.
Mr Adolfo Sommarribas, legal migration expert of EMN Luxembourg, outlined the historical evolution of asylum policy in the Grand Duchy from the 19th century to the present day.
Mr Sylvain Besch, from the Centre for Studies and Intercultural and Social Training (CEFIS), complemented the session by analyzing the statistical evolution of asylum seekers, positive decision rates, and protection statuses in Luxembourg over the recent decades.
- Ms Zane Rozenberga, EMN Luxembourg, focused on the mission, functioning and impact of the European Migration Network both at the national and European level.
