The Directorate General Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) and EMN Luxembourg have the pleasure to share with you this save the date information for the upcoming event: “Obstacles to returning irregular migrants to their country of origin: challenges and possible solutions”.

Location: University of Luxembourg, Campus Belval, Maison des Sciences Humaines, Room Blackbox (1st floor next to the reception), 11 Porte des Sciences, L-4366 Esch/Belval

Following the first workshop on “The role of EU cities in managing migration – opportunities and challenges” which took place in Luxembourg on 24 May 2019, this follow-up workshop will continue with a topic that was suggested by the participants of the first workshop.

The aim of the workshop is to analyse the obstacles of returning irregular migrants to their country of origin and to study the possibility of returning them to neighboring countries of the country of origin.  

The event will gather representatives of the European Commission, EU cities and regions, central governments, international organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
